On May 4, 2010, members of the Ray Walsh Foundation presented The Methodist Hospital a check for $20,000 to support promising research their doctors are currently undertaking which will hopefully find a cure for lymphoma.

Christmas 2009 |
|
Ray Walsh Foundation adopted a family of 6 struggling financially in light of the young mother's recent diagnosis of a rare and aggresive form of lung cancer. Additionally, the Foundation provided gifts to cancer-stricken children spending their Christmas at the hospital.

5th Annual Ray Walsh Memorial Golf Tournament |

The 5th Annual Ray Walsh Memorial Golf tournament was held on November 6, 2009. We had 141 registered golfers, and raised $32,500!

Inside Look at Cancer Research |

On August 27, 2009, members of the Ray Walsh Foundation participated in The Methodist Hospital's Grand Leadership Rounds, where the members got a first hand look at the work Methodist is doing with the funds RWF has contributed. The cutting edge technology being developed at Methodist, and the clinical trials for cancer patients currently underway at Methodist (jointly with Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital) encourages us that our strides against cancer are working!!

On April 29, 2009, members of the Ray Walsh Foundation presented The Methodist Hospital's Cell and Gene Therapy Department with a check for $22,000. The funds are being used to continue the joint effort of Methodist, Baylor Medical Center and Texas Children's Hospital's advances in a new clinical trial for Lymphoma patients.

March 29, 2007 Donation |

The Ray Walsh Foundation made its single largest donation since its incorporation with a $15,000 donation to The Methodist Hospital's blood cancer department. After speaking with doctors at Methodist, Ray Walsh Foundation was intrigued by the new and unique strategies that Methodist is working on to treat and hopefully cure specific forms of lymphoma.

2007 Houston Marathon through Team in Training |
|
Ray's son Tom ran the half-marathon in the Houston Marathon on January 14, 2007, through Team in Training, a branch of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Ray's son Marty ran side by side with Tommy, both running in honor of Ray. They completed the Half-Marathon in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Congratulations boys!

Moving Through Cancer: Yoga for Empowerment and Healing |
|
On May 7, 2006, Ray Walsh Foundation, led by Terry Walsh Crews, helped cancer patients with a free yoga workshop. A small group of cancer patients attended the two hour class which was geared to helping them find empowerment and peace through yoga.

Celebration of Life |

On March 4, 2006, Julian Crews, volunteer with Ray Walsh Foundation, was the master of ceremonies at Celebration of Life in Chiacago, IL. This fundraising event benefits The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Julian is volunteering his time in furtherance of Ray Walsh Foundation's goals of helping to speed up the cure for blood cancers.

Houston Marathon through Team in Training |

THEY ALL FINISHED! Ray's son in law completed the half marathon in 2 hours, 25 minutes, and his 3 children all completed the marathon. Tom Walsh ran the marathon in 4 hours, 43 minutes, and Maryalyce ran it with Lenore, who completed the 26.2 mile course in 4 hours and 50 minutes. Thanks for all your support. It was an emotional and fun day!

We had a great turnout and a great golf tournament for the 1st Annual Ray Walsh Memorial. We raised over $12,000 for cancer patients and cancer research. THANK YOU to all of you who helped make this event a success.
