   Where your money goes

On May 4, 2010, the Ray Walsh Foundation presented $20,000 to The Methodist Hospital to continue the work its research doctors are conducting in the field of lymphoma. The clinical trials are shwoing great promise, and the Ray Walsh Foundation is honored to be a small part of the progress the dedicated team of doctors have made.

On April 29, 2009, the Ray Walsh Foundation made its largest single donation of $23,000 to support the Ray Walsh Research Fund established at The Methodist Hospital. The research fund that was named in Ray's honor was established to help fund new and innovative research by doctors at The Methodist Hospital, Baylor Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital. Current research is underway to determine the synergetic effect of two previously FDA approved drugs used to treat blood cancer. The study is now open for Lymphoma patients who have suffered relapse and are unable to continue traditional chemotherapy treatment.

In addition to donations to The Methodist Hospital, since Ray Walsh Foundation was formed in July, 2005, it has made contributions to the following:

The American Cancer Society

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society-Chicago Chapter

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society-Texas Gulf Coast Chapter

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society- Texas North Dallas Chapter

MD Anderson Cancer Center

Addi's Faith Foundation (a foundation set up for an 18 month old child, living in Kingwood and suffering from brain cancer~ The donation was given in order to offset medical expenses for the family)

National Institute for Cancer Research

For Christmas 2005 and again in 2009, the Ray Walsh Foundation adopted families where one member was currently battling cancer. The Foundation was able to help the family by supplying toys, clothes and groceries for Christmas, so the family could spend the money on medical bills.

For Christmas 2006, Ray Walsh Foundation donated hundreds of dollars worth of toys to low income cancer children being treated at Ben Taub Hospital.

For Christmas 2007, 2008 and 2009, Ray Walsh Foundation donated toys to cancer-stricken children being treated at Texas Children's Hospital. We believe that in addition to helping to fund research for a cure for cancer, we can also help individuals impacted by the disease. Since Ray had such a love for children and the needy, we know he would be happy to see some of the money going to help sick children and their families!
